Westwood Middle School’s basketball teams made the trek to Lewisburg for a district doubleheader Thursday evening.

Both the Rockets and Lady Rockets picked up wins, with the girls coming out on top 36-11 before the boys added a 47-34 victory in the nightcap.

In the girls’ game, Paisley Prater led the Westwood offense with 12 points. Norah Grant followed with eight points. Bella Hastings and Lyza Cashion both added six points each. Makenzie Meacham had four points.

On the boys’ side, Brock Christian led the way with 16 points. Kayden Campbell picked up nine points to finish just ahead of Luke Christian with eight points. Abe Norman and Hayes Shemwell both came away with five points each. Alijah Cuff had four points.

Westwood returns home for a district matchup against Forrest Monday. Tipoff of the girls’ game is set for 6 p.m.
