Carolyn Sue Davidson Obituary

On Wednesday, January 21 , 2026 at 8:07pm Carolyn Sue Davidson rejoiced into the heavenly arms of her Savior Jesus Christ. Carolyn was a God fearing woman whose light was undeniable and shone so brightly through her smile, hugs, prayers, love, kindness, and the food that she prepared. Her biggest accomplishments were shining brightly every day for Christ, her husband, children, siblings, and her job. She enjoyed waking up everyday walking in her faith and purpose. This is why she always had a beautiful smile on her face, gave the most loving hugs, and had the voice of an angel. No matter what type of day you were having, mom made it better. Her laugh was contagious and her joy filled every heart and room that she entered. Her faith was beyond measure and never wavered during good or bad times.

Carolyn was a devoted and loving wife to her husband Jerry for 47 years and adored her children Cisley and “J” (fiancee Sarah) who were always going to be her babies. We were her pride and joy! Her siblings meant the world to her along with her nieces and nephews whom she would do anything for to make them smile. Her 40 years at Manchester City Schools was not just a job, it was her calling. She treasured and embraced waking up every morning to bring a smile to everyone she encountered that day. And I can’t leave out her special friends who were not just friends but family. These special women were her sisters: Dee Sullivan, Connie Morris, Sandra Morris, Lisa Rouvelas, Susan Parsley, Karen Jackson, and Johnnie Ann Terry. She had 2 extra brothers as well: Tony Stephens and Stevie Sullivan. She knew she could call anytime and they would do anything for her and our family.

Carolyn was a loyal and devoted member of Stephen’s Chapel Church. She loved to share her testimony every Sunday. She couldn’t wait to tell everyone how good and faithful God is whether she felt well that day or not. Her favorite thing to say is God’s got me, everything will be okay. Her love language was serving in any capacity, but she especially loved to cook. Any meal that she prepared was filled with love and always enough to feed an army. She was determined that no one would go hungry and that she was feeding not only your stomach but your soul as well.

Mom’s smile was the absolute best and one of the components that awarded her the nickname of “Sunshine”. Although her smile is no longer here in the physical, her spirit has reached beyond measure. With each ray of sunshine, a gentle breeze across your face, a sweet moment with your friends and family just know and be reassured that her presence is near. For each of these simple moments are little pieces of miracles that Jesus shares with us each and everyday. Carolyn was a precious angel that was sent on loan to spread love, joy, patience, and compassion. To be able to encounter her presence was an absolute blessing. There is no doubt when her assignment had been fulfilled her Heavenly Father called her gently home.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Ella Mae Northcutt and brother Mike Northcutt.

She is survived by: husband – Jerry Davidson Sr. of Manchester, TN; daughter – Cisley Davidson of Manchester, TN; son – Jere “J” Davidson II (fiancee Sarah Eck) of Charleston, SC, brothers – Timothy “Butch” (Rita) Northcutt of Anchorage, Alaska; Randy (Maggie) Northcutt of Manchester, TN; Robert Northcutt of Chapel Hill, TN.

A host of precious nieces and nephews that she loved dearly

Special friends: Cynthia “Cyn” Marion, Tony Stephens, Stevie (Dee, Stephen Bradford, Carter) Sullivan, Faye Buckingham

Rest easy mom, for your dash between your dates granted you the reward of entering into the Heavenly Gates! I know I say rest but my heart knows you are rejoicing with so much joy because your body is now whole and you are with the Savior who made the most precious vessel I know.
