Memphis teen living with autism goes missing amid storm recovery, MPD says
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Police are looking for a 15-year-old boy living with autism who went missing Friday morning as the Mid-South continued to recover from a winter storm.
The Memphis Police Department said Friday morning that Dawayne Darden hadn’t been seen for at least 10 hours after he walked away from his home on Briarcrest Lane without supervision. The teen is said to have been diagnosed with autism.
The boy is described as 5-foot-3 and 130 pounds with black hair, brown eyes. He had a blue/green blanket and was wearing glasses, a blue shirt and black pants at the time of his disappearance.
