A teenager being held at the Blount County Juvenile Detention Facility has died after experiencing a medical emergency, Blount County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Marian O’Briant told The Daily Times.
The 14-year-old male was rushed to Blount Memorial Hospital a little after 7 p.m. on Wednesday, O’Briant said.
The teen’s death is currently under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and an autopsy was performed Thursday at the Knox County Regional Forensic Center.
