Armed man shot by Jackson PD dies, TBI says
JACKSON, Tenn. – A man armed with a gun was shot and killed Sunday afternoon by police in the Tennessee city of Jackson, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI).
TBI said it all started just before 2 p.m. Sunday, when officers with the Jackson Police Department (JPD) were called to Lafayette Street “about a man with a gun.” The location is not far from Tennessee Highways 45 and 70.
“For reasons still under investigation, multiple officers fired their weapons,” TBI said in a report. The agency reported that the man was rushed to a local hospital, where he died.

TBI did not immediately the circumstances leading to the gunfire. No officers were injured, the agency said.
TBI has taken over the investigation but did not further elaborate.
