Duck River Utility Commission asks public to conserve water

The Duck River Utility Commission on Feb. 4 asked the public to conserve water for the next two weeks.
“DRUC is struggling with high demand coming out of that cold snap and have issued a public request for water conservation for the next two weeks,” said Duck River Utility Commission General Manager Randal J. Braker.
Braker said that no one is out of water, but the water treatment plant is trying to be proactive and prevent a water outage problem.
“Right now are about 40 to 50% in most tanks, but we cannot seem to gain any ground overnight so we are asking for voluntary conservation,” Braker said.
