Man yells for help, asks for somebody to call 911
B
A cry for help sent a man to jail March 1 near Madisonville.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Martin said he was on another call on Dunn Road when heard shouting for help and someone saying to call 911.
Martin said he went over to the residence and saw a white Chevy truck attempting to pull out of the driveway. He told the driver to stop, but the driver made it out of the driveway and took off.
Martin said he pursued the truck until it came to a stop at the intersection of Dunn Road and Gamble Gap Road. He then had the driver, Wesley Ray Carmley, get out of the truck and placed him in handcuffs and put him in the back of his patrol car.
Martin went back to the house where he talked to another man who said he arrived home from church and saw a white Chevy truck parked in his yard with Carmley in it.
The man said he asked Carmley what he was doing and Carmley said he was looking for someone. The man said he told Carmley there was no one there by that name and he needed to leave.
The man said Carmley then began yelling and cursing him, saying he would be back to rob and hurt him. The man also said Carmley tried to hit him with the truck when he left.
Carmley, 48, Big Creek Road, Madisonville, was charged with harassment, aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
