Woman’s ex-boyfriend shoots another man during confrontation inside Raleigh home, police say
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A confrontation between two men inside a Raleigh home turned violent early Monday morning, leading to one of them opening fire and injuring the other, according to the Memphis Police Department.
It all started when a woman invited her ex-boyfriend to come over “to talk” at her home on Edgefield Drive — just off Frayser-Raleigh Road, police said. MPD said that as the two talked, a man inside the home asked, “Why are you outside with him?”
MPD said the confrontation escalated as the woman’s ex-boyfriend walked inside the home, taking out a gun and shooting the other man. The gunman then jumped into a white GMC and drove off, police said.
Officers were called to the home just before 2:45 a.m., police said. MPD said there were two children sleeping inside the home when gunfire erupted.
Police identified the man who was shot as a 37-year-old man. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.
MPD did not disclose the injured man’s relationship to the woman.
