PREP ROUNDUP: CHS tennis splits with Community

The Coffee County tennis team opened its week with a home match against Community Monday afternoon.

The Red Raiders picked up a 4-3 victory, while the Lady Raiders fell 5-2.

Boys’ singles wins for Coffee County included Aidan Hayes, who defeated Jaxson Stacy 8-4. Christian Galindo won his match over Zach Leathers by a score of 8-5. Colin Bryant defeated Kingston Kibble 8-6.

In boys’ doubles, the team of Bryant and Ethan Hayes won 8-5 over the team of Stacy and Jackson Hoover.

On the girls’ side, Isabelle Saner won her singles match 8-2 over Kathryn Seso. Jayna Anderson added an 8-4 singles victory over Isabell LeBlanc.

Coffee County hosts Warren County to close out the regular season at 2 p.m. Thursday.

High School Flag Football

Coffee County 25, Boyd Buchanan 14

The Lady Raiders picked up a home win over Boyd Buchanan Monday evening.

Coffee County travels to White County for a 7 p.m. game Tuesday.

Middle School Softball

Community 11, Westwood 2

The Lady Rockets fell behind early on the way to a home loss Monday.

Westwood finished with four hits, led by Elly Wild with two. Paisley Prater and McClayne Finch both had one hit each.

Maleah Chavis had the team’s lone RBI.

Skyleigh Cooper pitched a complete game, finishing with four strikeouts, 12 hits, 11 runs and three walks.

Westwood (5-8) remains at home to host Liberty Thursday evening. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m.
