PREP ROUNDUP: CHS boys’ golf takes second at Keith Maxwell Tournament

The Coffee County golf team traveled to McMinnville Country Club to take part in the Keith Maxwell Tournament Tuesday.

The Red Raiders finished in second place out of 13 teams with a team score of 322, trailing first-place Cookeville by three strokes.

The Lady Raiders finished in fifth place out of eight teams with a team score of 193.

Levi Rossman led Coffee County’s boys’ scorers with a round of 76. Jaxon Phillips and Rylan Melson both followed with rounds of 81. Carter Bell and Blaine Bonner both shot scores of 84, but only one counted toward the Red Raiders’ team score.

On the girls’ side, Karaline Matthews led the way with a round of 90. Karsyn Riddle finished with a 103.

HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

Lawrence County 3, Coffee County 0

The Lady Raiders fell in three sets on the way to a district loss in Lawrenceburg Tuesday, losing by set scores of 25-12, 25-18 and 25-14.

Isabelle Saner led the team in aces with three. Andon Selvog followed with two. Blaine Weaver had one ace.

Jenslee Nogodula was Coffee County’s digs leader with 21 on the match. Hayleigh Harris followed with eight. Selvog added three digs. Saner, Danni Hillis, Cara Newlin and Addy Wild came away with two digs each. Cailey Sturgill and Paisley Dyer each had one.

Harris led the team in kills with five. Up next was Sturgill with four, finishing just ahead of Hillis with three. Selvog, Newlin and Wild had one kill each.

Sturgill and Dyer each had one block.

Saner led the team in assists with five. Selvog and Nogodula had one assist each.

Coffee County (10-6, 4-2 district) remains on the road for another district match against Shelbyville Thursday. Start time is set for 6 p.m.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS’ SOCCER

Westwood 3, Liberty 1

The Lady Rockets picked up a road victory Tuesday to put them back in the win column following Friday’s draw.

Raegan Sample had two of the team’s goals. Ashlyn Allen had one.

Westwood returns home to take on Community Thursday. Start time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Coffee County 3, Community 0

The Lady Raiders picked up a road win over the Viqueens Tuesday night.

The victory marked the team’s second straight.

Coffee County returns home to host Lincoln County at 6 p.m. this evening.

Warren County 44, Coffee County 6

The Red Raiders fell behind early on the way to a home loss Tuesday.

Coffee County (1-5) travels to Bridgeforth for a 6:30 p.m. game this Tuesday.

The Westwood football team kept its undefeated 2026 record in check with a home win over North Franklin Thursday night.

Westwood (6-0) returns to the road to take on Cascade this Thursday. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Raiders got back on track with a home win on eighth grade night Thursday evening.

The victory followed a 3-0 home loss to Tullahoma the day before.

The Lady Raiders fell in a home match to the rival Lady Cats Thursday evening.

Coffee County previously defeated Battle Creek at home last Monday.
