Wimberley announces run for Register of Deeds

Local resident Kara Wimberley has announced her candidacy for Register of Deeds. Her announcement reads as follows: My name is Kara Wimberley, and I am proud to announce my candidacy for Register ofDeeds for Coffee County.
I grew up overseas and lived in three countries and several different states before moving to Nashville, where I was swept off my feet by a Coffee County boy. Keith and I were married in 1999 and moved to Manchester in 2000 as he accepted his dream job at Old Stone Fort State Park. Coffee County has been home ever since, and I couldn’t ask for a better place to call home. We have been blessed with two wonderful children, Ella and Knox, both of whom have grown up deeply involved in our local community and youth sports.
Through my children’s involvement, I became active in the Coffee County Soccer League and eventually served as its president for eight years. During that time, I also served on the board of Park Partners. By working together, the Coffee County Soccer League and Park Partners were able to turn the longheld dream of a soccer complex in Manchester into a reality. These experiences strengthened my commitment to service, collaboration, and responsible leadership.
My professional background has prepared me well for the role of Register of Deeds. I began working in a law office specializing in real estate law in 2002, gaining firsthand experience preparing many of the documents that are recorded in this office. In 2010, I joined the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office in General Sessions Court, where I also served as the General Sessions Judge’s assistant. In 2019, I accepted a position with the Coffee County Property Assessor’s Office, where I currently serve. Each role has given me a clear understanding of how our county offices work together and the importance of accuracy, efficiency, and public trust.
The Register of Deeds plays a vital role in Coffee County by recording and safeguarding important legal documents such as deeds, liens, deeds of trust, judgments, court orders, and powers of attorney. I understand what is required on each document and how critical it is that they are recorded correctly the first time. I believe the Register of Deeds should work closely with title companies, attorneys, the Property Assessor, and the public to ensure timely, accurate recordings that protect property owners and prevent future issues.
I am hard-working, thorough, fair-minded, and approachable. I believe leadership means accountability and treating every person with courtesy and respect—whether they walk through the door, call on the phone, or send an email. I love Coffee County, and I believe our community deserves experienced, dedicated leadership in every county office.
I would be honored to serve as your next Register of Deeds, and I respectfully ask for your vote on May 5.
