CCMS baseball routs Franklin County
T he Coffee County Middle School baseball team closed out the first week of its season with a dominant road win Friday evening.
Taking on Franklin County for the second time in two days, the Red Raiders got on the board first and continued to push ahead from there on the way to a 13-1, fiveinning victory.
Coffee County finished with 10 hits, led by Mason Floyd and Braxton Swack with three each. Tripp Trussler followed with two hits. Aiden McNeese and Cooper Melton each had one hit.
Swack led the team in RBI with three. Up next was Floyd with two. Trussler, McNeese and Bentley Ater had one RBI each.
Swack was Coffee County’s starting pitcher, striking out five and holding Franklin County to one run and four walks on the way to earning the win. Ater came on in Swack’s place in the bottom of the fifth inning, closing it out with one strikeout, one hit and one walk.
With the win, Coffee County moved to 3-0 on the season.
THURSDAY RESULTS High School Tennis
CHS splits with Community
The Coffee County tennis team opened its home slate with a boys’ and girls’ matchup against Community Thursday afternoon.
The Red Raiders came out on top this time around, winning 6-2. The Lady Raiders were unable to complete the sweep, falling 5-1.
In boys’ singles, Coffee County’s wins included Ethan Hayes by a score of 8-1 over Kingston Kibble. Colin Bryant won 8-3 over Jackson Hoover. Aidan Hayes took down Jaxson Stacy by a score of 9-8. Christian Galindo won 8-2 over Tristan Perry. Alfonso Cornejo fell 8-5 in his match against Zach Lenthers.
In doubles play, the Red Raider team of Bryant and Galindo won 8-3. The team of Hayes and Cornejo fell 8-6.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Raiders doubles team of Isabelle Saner and Kati McInturff took down the team of Kathryn Seso and Abby Martinez by a score of 8-0. The team of Illy Allen and Jayna Anderson fell in their doubles matchup by a score of 8-1.
In girls’ singles, Saner fell 9-7 to Madison McKamey. McInturff fell to Seso by a score of 8-6. Allen lost 8-3 against Bearden. Anderson fell 8-4 to Macey McKamey.
Middle School Baseball
Coffee County 10, Franklin County 0
The Red Raiders made it back-to-back wins to open the season with a shutout home victory over Franklin County Thursday evening.
Swack led the way at the plate, coming away with three of the team’s seven hits. Floyd, Melton, Tyce DePalma and Tyler Campbell had one hit each.
Coffee County finished the game with six RBI, led by Swack and Trussler with two each. McNeese and Liam Niece each had one.
Floyd got it started on the mound, striking out 13 while holding Franklin County to one hit and four walks until coming off in the top of the fifth inning to earn the win. Ater closed it out from there, picking up the final strikeout to bring the game to a close in four and a half innings.
Middle School Softball
Coffee County 11, Franklin County 0
The Lady Raiders kept their undefeated start to the season intact Thursday, holding the Rebelettes scoreless on the way to a home win.
Coffee County posted 13 hits over the course of the three and half inning game, led by Liberty Hill with three. Britlyn Jones, Izzy Haynes, Kayda Ferrell and Addie Haley all added two each.
Aubrey Brown got it done in the circle, earning one strikeout and holding Franklin County to one hit over the course of the game to pick up the win.
The Lady Raiders also finished the game with 10 RBI, led by Hill with four.
The win moved Coffee County to 3-0 on the season.
WEDNESDAY RESULTS Middle School Baseball
Coffee County 8, Battle Creek 5
The Red Raiders kicked off their 2026 season with a road win Wednesday evening.
Taking on Battle Creek, Coffee County tied it at 5-5 in the top of the fourth inning before adding three more runs over the game’s remainder on the way to the victory.
The team finished with seven hits, led by Ater and Trussler with two each. Floyd, Swack and Campbell each had one.
Floyd, Swack and Trussler had one RBI each for a team total of three.
On the mound, Niece went three innings and finished with one strikeout, three hits, five runs and four walks. Kasen Shelton took his place, striking out two more Battle Creek batters until coming off in the bottom of the sixth inning. Swack closed it out for the inning’s remainder to earn the save.
Middle School Softball
Coffee County 4, Oakland 3
The Lady Raiders picked up their second straight win Wednesday, holding off a late push from Oakland in the top of the seventh inning to preserve a one-run home victory.
Coffee County had five hits over the course of the game, led by Amaya Campbell with two. Jones, Haley and Brinley Bennett each had one.
The Lady Raiders also finished the night with four RBI.
Campbell went the distance in the circle, coming away with six strikeouts, nine hits and three runs across all seven innings.

RESULTS High School Tennis
CHS falls to Tullahoma in season opener
The Coffee County tennis team kicked off its 2026 season with a road matchup at Tullahoma last Tuesday.
Both the Red Raiders and Lady Raiders were swept across all of their respective matchups in both singles and doubles competitions.
In the boys’ singles matches, Bryant, Cornejo and Galindo all fell by scores of 8-2. In doubles’ play, the team of Bryant and Galindo lost 8-1.
On the girls’ side, Allen came up short in an 8-5 loss. Saner fell 8-4, with Anderson falling 8-3. McInturff lost 8-0. Girls’ doubles results included an 8-4 loss for the team of Saner and McInturff, as well as an 8-2 loss for the team of Allen and Anderson.
MONDAY, MARCH 2 RESULTS Middle School Baseball
Westwood sweeps Fayetteville City doubleheader
The Rockets were back on their home field last Monday evening, welcoming Fayetteville City for a pair of games.
Westwood came out on top in both matchups, taking the first by a score of 15-0 before following this up with a 16-1 victory in the nightcap.
The Rockets finished the first game with 12 hits, led by Luke Christian, Griffyn Woods and Casen Francisco with two each, with a home run for Francisco. Logan McKenzie, Brock Christian, CJ Chavis Jr., Jackson Vernon, Aidyn Jones and Will Levengood each had one, with Jones’s hit going yard for a home run.
Francisco came away with four of Westwood’s nine RBI. Woods followed with two. Chavis Jr., Jones and Luke Christian each had one RBI.
Chavis Jr. went the distance on the mound, striking out seven and holding Fayetteville City to one hit and one walk across all three innings.
Westwood followed this up with eight hits in the second game of the doubleheader, with two each from Chavis Jr., Max Stewart and Luke Christian. Woods and Francisco both added one.
The Rockets finished the game with 12 RBI, led by Stewart with four. Brock Christian followed with three. Woods added two RBI. Chavis Jr., Owen Holder and Luke Christian each had one.
Vernon pitched all three innings, finishing the game with six strikeouts, two hits, one run and three walks.
Middle School Softball
Tullahoma Middle 11, Westwood 4
The Lady Rockets opened their 2026 season with a home loss to the Lady Cats last Monday night.
Westwood had eight hits and four RBI over the course of the fiveinning game. In the circle, the Lady Rockets finished with three strikeouts, four hits and 10 walks.
