Assassins open April 10 at MAC

Step up to the dark side of the American dream in Stephen Sondheim’s bold and disturbing look at America’s obsession with celebrity and its complicated political history. Millennium Rep presents the musical Assassins, beginning April 10 at the Manchester Arts Center. It’s dark, funny, and unforgettable.

Director Jason Griffey’s cast features Tyler Plumley as John Wilkes Booth, Roy Adams as the Balladeer, and Jonathan Higdon as the Proprietor, with Jordan Colwell (Leon Czolgosz), Jordan Romero (Charles Guiteau), Alex Torrejon (Sara Jane Moore), Eliza Griffey (Squeaky Fromme), Michael Higdon (John Hinckley), Edgar Guzman (Giuseppe Zangara), and Rick Ruiz (Samuel Byck). The ensemble includes Rachael Parker, Leah Swarts, Ryan Clanton, Robin Throneberry, Elijah Castaneda, Anna Brockman, and Sawyer Luneack.

Assassins runs April 10 – 12  and 17 – 19, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and military, and $10 for students, and are available at millenniumrep.org or by calling 931.570.4489. The Arts Center is located just off Manchester’s historic square at 128 E. Main St.

Assassins contains adult situations and potentially offensive language, and is recommended for ages 16 and up.
