Honking horns and pulling guns at Taco Bell
B
A man who got upset over being honked at allegedly pulled a gun on another car March 27.
Madisonville Police Officer Lance Anderson said he went to the Taco Bell on Highway 411 and talked to a man who said he was leaving the drive thru line and a red truck was blocking the exit.
The man said he was waiting when the car behind him blew their horn and the man in the truck, thinking it was the alleged victim, pointed a handgun at him and his young son, who was also in the car.
The man said he followed the truck to get a tag number and saw it turn onto Ball Play Road, then onto Povo Road, before turning around and getting back on Ball Play and heading in the Tellico direction.
Another officer spotted the truck, still on Ball Play Road, and pulled it over. Anderson drove out to where the truck was stopped and talked to the driver, Trevor French.
French said he was talking to a friend at Taco Bell when the guy behind him began yelling at him. French reportedly said he did pull out a BB gun and point at the car before leaving. He said the driver in the car followed him around for awhile and he threw the BB gun out on Povo Road.
Anderson said French told him he was probation for burglary as he was taken to jail.
Anderson said someone did find the BB gun on Povo Road and brought it to the police station.
French, 18, Ball Play Road, Madisonville, was charged with aggravated assault.
