6-year-old dies after being struck by car in Frayser, driver arrested, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A boy has died after being struck by a car in Frayser Thursday afternoon, the Memphis Police Department said.

A report said that the driver of a Chrysler 200 was traveling westbound on Whitney Avenue when it struck the 6-year-old boy, who was located in the westbound lane of traffic on Whitney. 

The boy was taken to Le Bonheur in critical condition but later died. 

Police said the driver, Kenyunte Goss, remained on scene. She is charged with driving while her license is suspended/revoked/cancelled, and with financial responsibility law in accordance with the mandatory arrest law associated with the Ricky Otts Act.

The crash is still under investigation.
