YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. — Backpackers interested in exploring Yellowstone National Park this year can apply for an early access lottery, according to the park.

Lottery winners will have the chance to book a backcountry reservation before the general access season begins. This provides an opportunity to secure a spot before reservations open to the public.

The deadline to register for the early access lottery is March 20. This gives interested backpackers a limited time to apply for the exclusive opportunity.
