Gunshot victim shows up at hospital after shooting at northeast Memphis apartments, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A gunshot victim showed up at a hospital after gunfire erupted early Tuesday morning at a northeast Memphis apartment complex, police said.

The shooting call came in just after 4 a.m. at Canterbury Woods Apartments, according to the Memphis Police Department (MPD). Officers converged at the complex but did not find a victim.

However, police said that a man who had been struck by gunfire showed up “a short time later” at a hospital by private vehicle. His injuries were considered life-threatening, MPD said.

No other details were released.
