City announces snow storm plans

A city announcement from Manchester Street Department on Thursday, Jan. 9 detailed the city’s plans for the forecasted snow storm. 

The city will begin pretreating bridges and overpasses and hills on non-state highways. 

Highways 55, 53 and 41 are maintained by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). 

The city list of priority streets  for salting are  Fire Hall 2, Freedom Drive, Ingram St., Spring Street, Oakdale Street, the Old Tullahoma Highway to the City Limits, Madison St., Fredonia Rd., Paradise St., Interstate Dr., Garland Ln., Fire Hall 1, Ragsdale Rd., New Bushy Branch Road, McKeller St., Doak Rd., Clover Ln. Hillschapel Rd., Oak Drive (south of section), Rogers Dr., Royal Trail, Powers Rd., Walnut ln., Hillwood Circle, Skinner Flat Rd. and Ester Ln. 

The city asks people to stay in if possible in the event of inclement weather. 

Trash pickup will not run Friday and will resume Monday. Residents are asked to place cans out at the road as normal for pickup. Household debris pickup will run normally.
