CCMS gets road sweep at Tullahoma West

The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders won in dominant fashion 44-14 while the Red Raiders picked up a 27-16 win on the road at Tullahoma West on Tuesday night.

Just like their first two games, the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders answered the call on the defensive side of the ball.

The Lady Raiders raced out to a 22-6 halftime lead before outscoring the Lady Bobcats 22-8 in the second half to pick up a 44-14 win in which every player on the Lady Raider roster was able to get some playing time.

“It was another good road win against a conference opponent,” said Coach David Vinson. “We played hard and that’s all a coach can ask for.”

The Lady Raiders remain perfect after the win with a 3-0 record.

CCMS Red Raiders

Meanwhile, the Red Raiders had to slug it out with the Bobcats for their second win of the season.

Coffee County had the edge in the first quarter, outscoring West 7-4 with the help of three pointers from Ethan Arnold and Lane Sheppard, but the Bobcats held the Red Raiders to just two points in the second quarter and took a 10-9 lead into the halftime break.

The Red Raiders would outscore the Bobcats 18-6 in the second half and win the game 27-16.

Coffee County Middle will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 1 to take on cross-town rivals Westwood at Coffee County Central High School.
