Middle School Volleyball: Sept. 11-12

The Westwood Lady Rockets and Coffee Middle Lady Raiders each collected wins on Wednesday and Thursday night.

Westwood Lady Rockets

The Westwood Lady Rockets picked up a road win at Lewisburg on Wednesday, winning 25-20 in the first set and 25-21 in the second set for a 2-0 win.

Westwood’s JV squad won as well, beating the Tigers 2-1 after losing the first set.

On Thursday, the Lady Rockets played host to Cascade for their final home match of the regular season.

Westwood took a 25-21 loss in the first set, but battled back to win the second set 25-22 and finished things off with a 15-13 win in the third set for a 2-1 victory.

The JV Lady Rockets also won their match with Cascade, battling it out in the first set to win 26-24, then dominating the second set 25-8.

With the win, Westwood’s varsity team ended conference play with an 8-2 record, which was good enough for second place.

Westwood’s overall record is now 9-3 and their next match will take place on Thursday, Sept 19. at Coffee County.

CCMS Lady Raiders

The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders won on the road at Community on Wednesday night in a 2-0 sweep, then followed that up with another 2-0 win at home against North Franklin.

Coffee County’s JV squad suffered a 2-0 loss at Community, but responded with a 2-0 win against North Franklin.

The Lady Raider varsity squad is now 11-1 on the year and will play host to Cannon County on Monday, Sept. 16 for their next game.
