Williams tapped as new county attorney

Coffee County Interim Mayor Dennis Hunt announced July 1 that local Attorney Mark A. Williams will serve as the new Coffee County attorney.

“I bring a unique set of experiences to the office that I hope will help the mayor as well as Coffee County Commission.

Hunt called Williams’ planning and zoning experience a definite plus for Coffee County. Williams serves as the chairman of the Manchester Planning Commission.

Williams has practiced law in Coffee County since 1996. He serves on the Coffee County 911 board.

Williams’ hire follows former County Attorney Edward North’s resignation by letter dated June 14. 

John has been with the Manchester Times since May 2011. John has won Tennessee Press Association awards for Best News Photo and placed in numerous other categories. John is a 1994 graduate of Tullahoma High School, a graduate of Motlow State Community College and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Middle Tennessee State University. He lives in Tullahoma, enjoys painting, dancing and exploring the outdoors.
