Lady Raiders sweep Warren for sixth straight win

The CCCHS Lady Raiders won their sixth consecutive game with a 13-6 win over Warren County on Thursday night at Terry Floyd Field.
Coffee County would score first, as Willow Carden scored on a steal of home plate to give the Lady Raiders a 1-0 lead after the first inning of play.
The Lady Raiders would double their lead in the second inning with Maggie Montgomery scoring on a double by Madison Pruitt to make the score 2-0, then in the third inning, Coffee County would explode for 11 runs to take a commanding, 13-0 lead.
Warren County would ruin the Lady Raiders’ attempt at a mercy rule in the top of the fifth inning, scoring five runs to make the score 13-5.
Coffee County would surrender just one more run in the top of the seventh inning and the Lady Raiders held on for the 13-6 win.
Paisley Campbell and Madison Pruitt each had two hits and two RBIs, Chesnie Cox had one hit and two RBIs, Maggie Montgomery had three hits and one RBI, Jalyn Moran and Lily Norman each had one hit and one RBI, Ella Arnold had one RBI and Savannah Cooper along with Kara Wheeler each had one hit for the Lady Raiders.
Norman would pick up another win in the circle for the Lady Raiders, pitching six innings, allowing one run on three hits, committing one error, striking out 12 batters and walking five on 98 pitches. Katelyn Anderson would pitch one inning in relief, allowing five runs on three hits, committing five errors and walking three batters on 45 pitches.
The Lady Raiders are now 13-5 on the season and will travel to Lincoln County to take part in the Border Battle on Friday, Apr. 19 with games against Stewarts Creek at 5:30 pm and Forrest at 7:00 pm.
