On Monday night, the CCCHS Red Raiders celebrated Senior Night with a victory in the First Vision Bank Coffee Cup over Tullahoma in a penalty shootout.

Before the game, seven members of the Coffee County Soccer Team were honored as part of the Senior Night ceremony: Miguel Loyloa, Cy Brody Dyer, Joan Jaimes, Peyton Pobanz, Thomas Roberts, Izick Sierra and Isaac Simmons.

In the 37th minute of play, Cayden Trail would score on a free kick from Ethan Sloan to give the Red Raiders a 1-0 lead. It would be the team-leading tenth goal of the season for Trail, and the fourth assist of the season for Sloan.

The Red Raiders would stay ahead by a goal through the second half, but with less than 10 minutes to go, the Wildcats started to make a push for a score.

With a minute to play in regulation, Tullahoma found the equalizer on a corner kick to tie the game at 1-1, sending it into a penalty shootout.

Manny Gonazales, Ethan Sloan, Joel Barrera and Peyton Pobanz would all score in the penalty shootout while Brayden Trail stopped one of Tullahoma’s shots and the Wildcats missed another to give Coffee County the win.

Coffee County has now won eight of their last ten in the rivalry with Tullahoma, and the win caps Coffee County’s regular season record at 12-1-3.

The Red Raiders will play host to a District Semifinal Game on Tuesday, May 7.
