Lady Raiders blown out by Gordonsville in regular season finale

The CCCHS Lady Raiders dropped their final game of the regular season in a 13-3 blowout loss to the defending Division 1A State Champion Gordonsville Tigers.

Gordonsville would build up a 3-0 lead after the first inning, then the Tigers scored two runs in each the second and third innings to rack up a 7-0 lead through three innings of play.

Coffee County would get on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning with Channah Gannon scoring on a Riley Phillips walk and Kara Wheeler sending in two runs on a fly ball double to make the score 7-3.

However, the Tigers scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and another two runs in the bottom of the fifth to win the game in a 13-3 mercy rule.

Gordonsville outhit the Lady Raiders 14-1, with the Tigers batting in five total home runs.

Lily Norman would be credited with the loss in the circle for Coffee County, pitching three innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits, striking out one batter and walking two on 50 pitches. Haleigh Skipper would get credit for 1.1 innings pitched while allowing six runs on seven hits through 45 pitches.

The Coffee County Lady Raiders finish the regular season with a 17-13 overall record.
