Lady Raiders beat Falcons on Senior Night

On Monday night, the CCCHS Lady Raiders celebrated Senior Night with a 10-2 bounce-back win over Lincoln County at Terry Floyd Field.
After losing to the Lady Falcons 15-1 on Sunday afternoon in what was part of a four game losing streak, the Lady Raiders were looking to get back in the win column.
Before the game, the Lady Raiders honored the six senior members of their team: Willow Carden, Chesnie Cox, Lilee Scott, Riley Phillips, Kara Wheeler and Madison Pruitt.
After the pre-game ceremonies, the game started with a scoreless first inning, then the Lady Falcons scored in the top of the second inning for the game’s first run.
Coffee County would answer with two runs in the bottom of the second as Madison Pruitt scored on a line drive double by Kara Wheeler, and Wheeler would score on a wild pitch to give the Lady Raiders a 2-1 lead.
The Lady Falcons would tie the score in the top of fourth inning with a solo home run, but the Lady Raiders again answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning as a ground ball single by Savannah Cooper allowed Willow Carden and Paisley Campbell to score and give Coffee County a 4-2 lead.
The Lady Raiders would score six times in the bottom of the fifth inning, including a two-run home run by Cooper, and go on to win 10-2.
Savannah Cooper would have a total of three hits and four RBIs, Paisley Campbell had two hits and two RBIs, Kara Wheeler had two hits and one RBI, Maggie Montgomery had one hit and two RBIs, Willow Carden and Riley Phillips each had two hits and Jalyn Moran had one hit for Coffee County.
Lily Norman collected another win in the circle, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out five batters and walking two on 91 pitches.
The Lady Raiders are now 15-9 on the season with a 7-1 mark in district play as they travel to Columbia for their next game on Tuesday, Apr. 23 at 7:00 pm.
