Westwood falls to Cascade in DRVC Tournament

The Westwood Lady Rockets suffered a tough, 8-0 loss to Cascade in the second round of the DRVC Tournament on Thursday night in Shelbyville.

Cascade would set the tone early, scoring three runs in the first inning to take a 3-0 lead.

The Lady Champions would double their score in the second inning, scoring another three runs to take a commanding, 6-0 lead.

Westwood kept the Lady Champions scoreless in the third inning and were able to get a couple of players on base in the top of the fourth, but they were still unable to find their way home for a score.

The Lady Champions would score twice more in the bottom of the fourth inning and go on to win 8-0 in a four inning mercy rule.

Annie Carden would have two hits and Addie Teal would have one hit for the Lady Rockets.

Westwood will continue the tournament in the consolation bracket with a game at 9:00 am on Saturday, Apr. 27 at the Shelbyville Recreation Center.
