Lady Raiders shut out Cascade for season sweep of Champions

On Thursday, the CCCHS Lady Raiders defeated Cascade 16-0 for their third shutout win of the season.

The Lady Raiders made quick work of the Champions, scoring a staggering 14 runs in the top of the first inning.

Coffee County would score one run in each the second and third innings, winning the game 16-0 in a mercy rule.

Paisley Campbell and Kara Wheeler each had two hits and three RBIs, Madison Pruitt had one hit and three RBIs, Willow Carden and Maggie Montgomery each had one hit and one RBI, Savannah Cooper, Jalyn Moran, Cara Newlin, Lily Norman and Riley Phillips all had one RBI apiece and Haleigh Skipper and Taylor McBride each had one hit for the Lady Raiders.

Norman would get credit for the win in the circle, pitching in two innings, allowing just one hit and striking out four batters on 41 pitches. Kaylee Buckley would pitch one inning in relief, allowing just one hit and striking out one batter on 12 pitches.

The Lady Raiders are now 8-5 on the season and will face Tullahoma in another Sunday matinee on April 7 at 3:00 pm.
