Red Raiders fall to Siegel in first road game

The Coffee County Red Raiders are now 0-2 to start the season after losing 9-2 at Siegel on Thursday night.

After a scoreless first inning, the Stars scored four runs in the bottom of the second to take the lead.

The Red Raiders would get on the board in the third inning after Nate Rutledge lined out to left field, which brought Trey Turner home to make the score 4-1, but the Stars matched with a run of their own in the bottom of the third to further their lead to 5-1.

Siegel would pad their lead in the fifth inning, scoring another four runs to lead 9-1.

Coffee County would score in the top of the sixth inning after Nate Rutledge came home on a passed ball, but the Stars would prove to be too bright, winning the game, 9-2 and outhitting the Red Raiders 11-2.

Nate Rutledge and Trevor Jesse would each register one hit for Coffee County.

Brady Daugherty would be credited with the loss after allowing four runs on four hits, walking three batters and striking out two on 47 pitches.

In relief, Jayden Fellers allowed five runs on seven hits, walking one batter and striking out three on 51 pitches and Isaiah Deadman struck out three batters on 25 pitches.

The Red Raiders will be back in Murfreesboro on Monday, March 11 when they visit Oakland.
