Red Raiders fall to Blackman

On Wednesday night, the Coffee County Red Raiders lost at home to Blackman, 5-2.
The Blaze would be the first ones to strike, scoring a run in the top of the first inning to take an early 1-0 lead, but the Red Raiders would answer in the bottom of the second inning with Brendon Sheppard scoring on a Trevor Jesse sacrifice fly to tie the game at 1-1.
Blackman would score three runs in the top of the third, and one run in the top of the fifth inning to lead 5-1 through five innings of play.
Coffee County would try to chip away, as Colter Neel drove one to center field for a home run to make the score 5-2 in the sixth inning, but the Blaze held on for the win.
Brady Daugherty took the loss on the mound, pitching in over four innings, allowing five runs on four hits, striking out four batters and walking three on 87 pitches.
The Red Raiders will look to stop their three game skid when they play against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School at Walker Valley High School on Friday, Mar. 22 at 7:30 pm.
