Manchester water department director resigns

Manchester Water and Sewer Director Phillip Miller has submitted his resignation. 

Mayor Marilyn Howard confirmed Thursday, March 14, that he has submitted a resignation and that it included a two week’s notice. 

Manchester Water Commission had scheduled a special call meeting for March 13 to discuss a pay increase for Miller. 

Miller was offered his position with the city in November of 2022. He comes to the city from Wartrace Utility.

Howard said the interim director position has not been determined as of Thursday and will meet with the department on Friday.   

John has been with the Manchester Times since May 2011. John has won Tennessee Press Association awards for Best News Photo and placed in numerous other categories. John is a 1994 graduate of Tullahoma High School, a graduate of Motlow State Community College and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Middle Tennessee State University. He lives in Tullahoma, enjoys painting, dancing and exploring the outdoors.
