Lazalier breaks school records at State

Over the weekend, Elsie Lazalier broke the Coffee County Central record in the two events she swam in at the TISCA High School State Championships in Nashville while several other local swimmers set personal best times.

Lazalier, swimming in the women’s 200 yard and 500 yard freestyle preliminary events, placed 59th in the 200 yard event with a time of 2:06.14 and placed 33rd in the 500 yard event with a time of 5:34.27, setting the CCCHS record in both events.

Red Raider teammate Jack Stowe swam in the men’s 100 yard butterfly and 100 yard backstroke preliminaries, setting personal best times of 57.10 seconds in the butterfly event, placing 59th, and 58.77 seconds in the backstroke event, where he placed 49th.

Several swimmers for Grace Academy also set personal best records.

Bethany Ashburn placed 69th in the women’s 100 yard butterfly preliminary with a personal best of 1:06.38.

Rosalea Buchanan finished 49th in the women’s 200 yard freestyle preliminary with a personal best time of 2:03.77 and finished 35th in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:34.76.

Jaci Howlett placed 37th in the women’s 200 yard freestyle preliminary event with a personal best time of 2:01.33 and placed 50th in the 100 yard freestyle preliminary with a time of 57.18 seconds.

Addison Yates came home 24th in the women’s 50 yard freestyle preliminary with a personal best of 25.28 seconds and finished 48th in the 100 yard backstroke with a personal best time of 1:03.00.

Ryan Brown swam in the men’s 200 yard and 500 yard freestyle preliminary events, placing 41st in the 200 with a time of 1:51.97 and placing 29th in the 500 with a time of 4:56.75.

From Tullahoma High School, Manchester Mako Will Nelson swam in the men’s 500 yard freestyle preliminary, placing 54th and recording a personal best time of 5:17.47.
