Coffee Middle places third at CTWC Dual Championship

On Saturday, the Coffee County Middle School Wrestling Team placed third in the Central Tennessee Wrestling Conference Dual Championship at Warren County.
In their first match of the day against Siegel, the Red Raiders won, 51-30.
Winning for the Red Raiders by a fall were Marcus Jaidin Uselton, TrippĀ Trussler, Jayden Melton, Toccoa Gaines and William Barlow, while Grayson Peacock won by a decision and Archer Rolefson, Alyssa Ash and Caden Harris picked up wins by a forfeit.
The Red Raiders didn’t fare quite as well in their matchup with Blackman.
Uselton would win by a major decision and Trussler would win by a decision, but Blackman dominated the match, 69-7.
The Red Raiders would be put in the consolation bracket and be pitted against Oakland in the third-place semi-finals.
For the Red Raiders, Melton, Carson, Stafford, Barlow and Ash would win by a fall, and Rolefson along with Luke Warrick and Jesse Lester would each win by forfeit to lead the Red Raiders over Oakland, 48-39.
For the third place match, Coffee was pitted against cross-county rival Tullahoma.Ā
The Red Raiders had yet to beat the Wildcats in their previous matchups in the regular season.
However, Uselton, Melton, Peacock, Stafford, Barlow, Ash, and Harris would all win their matches by a fall with Trussler winning by a major decision and Carson winning by a forfeit to beat the Wildcats, 52-36 to place third in the tournament.
Placing first were the host Warren County Pioneers with Blackman placing second.
