Coffee Central Wrestling Hosts Home Opener

On Thursday at Raider Academy, the Coffee Central Wrestling Team boys fell to Cookeville and Tullahoma while the girls picked up a win against Tullahoma.

While the Red Raider boys were able to pick up a few individual wins, they weren’t able to pick up any team wins against the Cavaliers or the Wildcats.

Against Cookeville, Red Raiders Sean Sanders and Jacob Barlow both picked up wins by a fall.

However, Joel Cruz-Martinez and Jordan Spry both lost by a decision, Austin Green and Eli McLean both lost by a major decision, Owen Shelton, Zachary Warrick, Tommy Miller, Ryan Degregerio and Giddian Mascari all lost by a fall and Cookeville picked up two forfeit wins on their way to win the match 56-12.

Against Tullahoma, McLean and Miller both picked up wins by a fall, Cruz-Martinez picked up a win by a decision and Barlow picked up a win by a forfeit.

However, Sanders, Shelton, Green, Warrick, Degregerio, Spry and Mascari all lost by a fall and Tullahoma picked up two forfeit wins en route to a 54-21 win.

On the girls side, Coffee Central was able to win over Tullahoma.

Payton Robertson, Gabriella Silva and Jianna Bare would all win their matches by a fall.

Jasmine Norris would lose by a decision, but the Red Raider girls would beat Tullahoma 18-3.

Next up for Coffee Central Wrestling will be a trip to Tullahoma on Saturday, Dec. 2 for the Garner-Dyer Girls Invitational, and both the girls and boys will be back home on Thursday, Dec. 7 against Smyrna at Raider Academy.
