Titans agree to terms with former CHS standout Alontae Taylor

Alontae Taylor is coming home to Tennessee. The former New Orleans Saints cornerback and Coffee County Central High School alumnus agreed to terms with the Tennessee Titans last Monday, signing a 3-year deal worth $60 million.

Taylor laced it up for the Red Raiders from 2014-2017, helping lead Coffee County to back-to-back Coffee Pot wins over Tullahoma during the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

Taylor went on to sign with the University of Tennessee and play for the Volunteers from 2018-2021, making the transition to cornerback before his freshman season. Taylor finished his career in Knoxville with 162 total tackles, including 115 solo tackles. He also finished his collegiate career with four interceptions for 130 yards and a touchdown.

Taylor went on to be selected 49th overall by the Saints in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, beginning a four-year stint in New Orleans.

Across these four seasons, Taylor amassed 293 total tackles, including 215 solo tackles, over 64 games played. Taylor’s time with the Saints also included four interceptions for 37 yards, as well as seven sacks and three forced fumbles.

Taylor will be joining the defense of a rebuilding Titans team looking to improve on a 3-14 2025 season. His agreement to go to Nashville was part of what was a busy first day of NFL free agency for the Titans, with eight players agreeing to terms with the team in that span.
