Coffee Middle gets wins at South

The Lady Raiders dominate to win seventh straight while the Red Raiders get their third win of the season on Thursday night.

After two close calls against Stewarts Creek and Warren, the Lady Raiders decided to win in dominating fashion over South Middle School. 

“I challenged my girls to pick it up defensively tonight,” said Coach David Vinson. “They responded well.”

Indeed they did.

The Lady Raiders beat the Lady Spartans 50-1. 

No, that is not a typo.

Scoring for the Lady Raiders were Hayleigh Harris with 21 points, Addalyn Clark with 13 points, Jenslee Nogodula with six, Brylyn McAdams with four and Kinsley Pruitt, Harper Crosslin and Isabell Saner each had two.

The Red Raiders would also pick up a win on Thursday night.

The first half was a tight battle, with Coffee leading 6-5 after the first quarter and 14-10 at the half.

The game remained a close one through the third as the Red Raiders led 28-22 going into the fourth before putting away the Spartans, 40-27.

Scoring for the Red Raiders were Jaxon Pruitt with 17 points, Jerrad Morgan with 10 points, Ethan Arnold with six, Lane Sheppard, Jude Golebiewski and Landyn Stiefel each had two and Ryan Abellana had one.

Next up for Coffee Middle Basketball will be a home game against North Middle School on Monday, Nov. 13.
