Westwood leaves Eagleville with two wins

The Lady Rockets win two in a row and the Rockets improve to 11-2 after a Thursday night matchup with the Eagleville Eagles.
Entering their matchup against Eagleville, the Westwood Lady Rockets were looking to win consecutive games for the first time this season.
The Lady Eagles wouldn’t make it easy for the visitors, as the Lady Rockets trailed by a point after the first quarter, 10-9.
Both teams scored six points each in the second quarter and the Lady Rockets still trailed 16-15 at the half.
In the third quarter, the Lady Rockets took over and outscored the Lady Eagles 16-6 to lead 31-22 into the fourth before winning the game, 38-24.
Scoring for the Lady Rockets were Jerzee Ferrell with 10 points, Allison Russ with nine, Zallona Dillard with eight, Carter Trail with three and Shaylee Meadows, Maci Jackson, Kylie Evans and Allee Wilmore each scored two.
On the boys side, the Rockets had a bit more competition than in their last game.
After the first quarter, Westwood led 11-5, then at half time, led 20-13.
The Eagles would outscore the Rockets 6-5 in the third quarter, as they trailed 25-19 heading into the fourth.
The Rockets would then outscore Eagleville 12-9 in the fourth to win their seventh game in a row and improve to 11-2 on the season.
Scoring for the Rockets were Mason Troxler with 17 points, Zeke Jones with six, Isaiah Buchanan and Brady Christian each had five and Caleb Hill had four.
Next up for the Westwood Rockets will be a road game at the Forrest Rockets on Monday, Nov. 13.
