On Monday night, The Lady Raiders won their eighth straight while the Red Raiders got back to .500 with a pair of wins over North Middle School.
The Lady Raiders had yet another fantastic performance to keep their winning streak going.
Coffee came out flying in the first quarter, leading the Gatorettes 23-3 after the first frame before leading at the half, 39-8.
The Lady Raiders kept the assault going, scoring 18 points in the third quarter to lead 57-19.
During the third quarter, the starters were given a rest, including Addalyn Clark.
Clark, celebrating her birthday, decided to show out in this game, as she scored 26 points and was a dominant force on the offensive boards.
“When she plays like she did tonight, she’s tough to stop,” said Coach David Vinson. “She’s a good player and she’s going to be great in high school.”
The Lady Raiders went on to win the game 59-23 and remain undefeated.
“Our offensive rebounding was good tonight,” said Vinson. “We were also very aggressive on defense. Our girls wanted to score some points.”
Scoring for the Lady Raiders were the aforementioned Addalyn Clark with 26 points, Hayleigh Harris with 11 points, Avery Pruitt and Isabelle Saner each had six and Jenslee Nogodula and Harper Crosslin each had four.
The Red Raiders arguably had their best game of the year so far.
Coffee was slow to start, leading 10-5 after the first, but the Red Raiders went to work in the second, outscoring the Gators 19-3 to lead 29-8 at the half.
The Red Raiders continued the scoring spree in the third and led 43-13 heading into the fourth where the Gators went scoreless, and Coffee won 47-13.
“We’re finding our identity,” said Coach Jonathan Oliver. “Our ball movement was better, our patience was better, our passing was better and our execution as a whole was better.”
Scoring for the Red Raiders were Jerrad Morgan with 14 points, Jaxon Pruitt, Landyn Stiefel and Warren Simmons each had seven, Ethan Arnold had six and Hyatt Moss and Jude Golebiewski each had three.
Coffee Middle will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 17 when they play Westwood at Coffee High.
