On Friday, Nov. 10, at Coffee County Central High School, softball player Madison Pruitt signed her letter of intent with Trevecca Nazarene University.

Pruitt, in her senior year of high school, will be majoring in exercise science with an emphasis in pre-occupational therapy.

“I wanted to go somewhere that was closer to home,” said Pruitt. “Trevecca is also a school that is built on Christian values, which is very important to me. It checked all of my boxes.”

The Trevecca Trojans Softball team, which plays in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in NCAA Division II, has won four regular season and three tournament titles in conference play, since joining the NCAA in 2012.

Madison will look to help them continue their success.

“I don’t know if I’ve seen a kid work harder than Madison,” said Coffee Softball Coach and Fall Athletic Director Brandon McWhorter. “She’s very goal driven and will do whatever it takes to get better.”

Pruitt, who plays right field for the Lady Raider Softball team, will have just one more year of high school competition, and with that, wants to savor it as much as possible before moving on to college.

“I want to soak it all in and enjoy every moment,” said Pruitt. “I’m also hoping to be a good leader this year”.
