Coffee County swimmers place first in several events

Coffee County’s Swim teams participated in their second swim meet of the year on Tuesday night in Winchester and several swimmers from Coffee County placed first in their respective events.
The meet was held at the Winchester Swimplex and was made up of 21 events for middle and high school swimmers.
As a team, Coffee Central placed sixth overall (third in high school) in the women’s 200-yard medley relay, first in the men’s 200-yard medley relay, fourth overall (third in high school) in the women’s 200-yard freestyle relay and second in the men’s 200-yard freestyle relay.
The top performers for the high school Red Raiders were Elsie Lazalier who placed first in the women’s 100-yard backstroke, Corban Alvarado, who finished first in the men’s 200-yard individual medley, Jack Stowe, who placed first in the men’s 100-yard butterfly.
Coffee Middle School placed fifth overall (third in middle school) in the women’s 200-yard medley relay, fourth overall (second in middle school) in the men’s 200-yard medley relay, sixth overall (third in middle school) in the women’s-200 yard freestyle relay and fourth overall (second in middle school) in the men’s 200-yard freestyle relay.
For the Middle Red Raiders, the highest finishers were Hayleigh Johnson, who finished 10th overall (third in middle school) in the women’s 100-yard backstroke, Kaden Strohm, who finished seventh overall (third in middle school) in the men’s 100-yard backstroke and Jacob Bolin, who finished eighth overall (third in middle school) in the men’s 50-yard freestyle.
Westwood placed fourth overall (second in middle school) in the women’s 200-yard medley relay and fifth overall (second in middle school) in the women’s 200-yard freestyle relay.
Placing high for the Rockets were Hallie Hunt, who placed 10th overall (fifth in middle school) in the women’s 100-yard freestyle and Alex Dolack, who placed third overall (first in middle school) in the men’s 100-yard freestyle.
For Grace Academy High school, the best finishers were Addison Yates, who placed first in both the women’s 100-yard freestyle and 100 yard breaststroke, Jaci Howlett, who placed first in the women’s 50-yard freestyle, Isaac Lee, who placed first in both the men’s 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle and Ryan Brown, who placed first in the men’s 100-yard freestyle.
The top performer for Grace Academy Middle School was Alyssa Yates, who finished first in the women’s 200-yard freestyle and second overall (first in middle school) in the 100-yard backstroke.
The next swim meet for Coffee County’s swim teams will take place on Saturday, Dec. 2 at The University of the South for the Snowball Invitational for high school swimmers.
