A teen was killed early Saturday morning when her vehicle crossed Highway 55 and hit a tree. 

According to the preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, on Sat, Dec. 16, at midnight a 2017 Dodge Ram truck, driven by Bella Bain, 18, was traveling on Highway 55 and failed to maintain its lane.

Per THP officials, the vehicle crossed over the center of the lane lines, and then ran off the left side of the roadway striking a tree. Bain was not wearing a seatbelt according to the report.
