MOTT
Mrs. Irene Mott of Lebanon, formerly of Manchester passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023 at Vanderbilt-Wilson County Hospital at the age of 85. Mrs. Mott was born in Enid, Okla. to the late Robert and Pearl Messenger Coffey. During her life, Irene dedicated herself to serving others in countless ways; as a CNA at Brightwork Living, as the Coordinator at the Arnold Air Force Base Officer’s Club, and she was affectionately known as “Mama Mott” to numerous firefighters at the Arnold Air Force Base Fire Department for the many years that her husband Jay served as a firefighter. She also served in the Young Women’s Presidency with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, taught children in Primary, and attended Girl’s Camp for 22 years, most recently at the age of 85. Most importantly, she was a selfless, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. He grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and light of Irene’s life. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mott was preceded in death by three children, Bill McLemore, Dorothy McLemore Stevenson, and JL Mott; and two brothers, Robert and Frank Coffey. She is survived by her loving husband, Jay Mott; four children, Randy Mott (Sandy), Annette Mott, Jodie Bean, and Shawn Mott (Sandi); 13 grandchildren, Pricilla, Brandy, Michelle, Josh, Shaila, Timmy, Casey, Bennett, Maddie, Karissa, Lyndsey, Triston, and Ashton, nine great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Rosie McLemore; and one son-in-law, Michael Stevenson. Visitation for Mrs. Mott will be held on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Tullahoma from noon-1 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 with Bishop Jared Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
