Red Raider girls earn first ever team placement at “Rumble for the Rose”

On Saturday, the Red Raider girls placed third as a team with several wrestlers placing in their respective divisions at the Bradley Central Rumble for the Rose Invitational.

Jade Lenhart placed first in the 165 pound division after beating Sale Creek’s Avery Grant by a fall in the championship round and Ellysia Jennings also placed first for the Red Raiders after beating Jehieli Valez-Almodovar of West Creek by a fall in the championship round of the 185 pound division.

Placing second in their respective divisions for Coffee County were Jianna Bare in the 138 pound division, Sara Crosslin in the 145 pound division and Estrella Armeta in the 152 pound division.

Also placing for Coffee County was Jasmine Norris, who placed third in the 114 pound division and Sara Crosslin would lose in the second round of the consolation bracket of the 120 pound division.

The Red Raider girls also earned their first ever placement by placing third in the tournament with 86 points. 

Placing first and second in the tournament were West Creek with 130 points and host Bradley Central with 97 points.

Coffee County Wrestling will be back in action on Thursday, Jan. 4 at Cookeville.
