The Coffee Middle Lady Raiders are the AAA Area 6 Champions after beating the Harris Eaglettes on Thursday night.

It was a slow start in the first quarter, as the Eaglettes edged in front of Coffee County, 7-5.

The Lady Raiders came back with a quick 10-0 run to start the second quarter before going on to lead at halftime, 17-9.

Coffee County continued their scoring spree in the third, outscoring the Eaglettes 14-6 to lead 31-15 heading into the fourth.

The Lady Raiders would hold on to win the game, 38-24, and win the Area Tournament for a third straight year.

“I’m very proud of these girls,” said Coach David Vinson. “They’ve had a fantastic season and we’re going to try and keep doing what we’ve been doing and take it one game at a time. No matter what happens next week in the Sectional Round, I’m very proud of what these girls have been able to accomplish this year. I would also like to tip my hat to Harris because they have a good team and they played a good game tonight. “

Scoring for the Lady Raiders in this game were Kinsley Pruitt with 12 points, Hayleigh Harris with eight points, Avery Pruitt with seven points, Jenslee Nogodula with six points and Addalyn Clark with five points. 

The Lady Raiders will continue their season as the #1 seed from Area 6 in the Sectional Round at Stewarts Creek Middle School next week.
