Red Raiders beat Tullahoma in season opener

On Thursday night, the Coffee Middle Red Raiders played host to Tullahoma in their season opener, winning the game, 4-2.

The Red Raiders would strike first, leading 1-0 after the first inning on a run scored by Augie Lynch after he stole third base then scored on a catcher error.

Coffee would add another run in the second, as Ethan Arnold scored on a Mason Floyd bunt.

The Wildcats would get on the board in the third inning to make it a 2-1 ball game before tying the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth.

The Red Raiders would retake the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring two more runs from Wayne Simmons and Ryan Abellana to lead 4-2, and hold on for the win.

Simmons would register the lone hit for the Red Raiders and Floyd would finish the game with two RBI.

Lynch pitched three innings for the Red Raiders, striking out four batters and surrendering one run. 

Jaxon Pruitt pitched one inning, striking out one batter and allowing the other Tullahoma run.

The Red Raiders will play Tullahoma again at 6:30pm on Friday, March 1 at Tullahoma.
