Red Raiders sweep Harris on Eighth Grade Night

On Wednesday, the CCMS Red Raiders celebrated Eighth Grade Night with a 15-0 shutout of Harris for the season sweep of the Eagles.

Before the game, the six eighth grade members of the Red Raider Baseball Team were honored: Landyn Stiefel, Augie Lynch, Warren Simmons, Tanner Daugherty, Ethan Reed and Daldon Keele.

The Red Raiders would set the tone early, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 4-0 lead.

Coffee County would continue to pour it on in the second inning, scoring three runs, including a single by Tanner Daugherty that drove in two as the Red Raiders compiled a 7-0 lead.

The barrage of hits by the Red Raiders continued on in the third inning, including a three-run home run by Jaxon Pruitt, as Coffee County piled on another six runs to their total to lead 13-0.

The Red Raiders would score twice more in the bottom of the fourth inning and go on to win the game 15-0.

Jaxon Pruitt had three hits and four RBIs, including his three-run homer in the third inning, Tanner Daugherty had three hits and three RBIs, Kanon Creek and Warren Simmons each had one hit and one RBI, Augie Lynch and Ethan Arnold each had two hits and Daldon Keele, along with Ethan Reed each had one hit for Coffee County.

Arnold earned the win on the mound, pitching in all five innings, allowing just three hits, striking out three batters and walking one on 62 pitches.

The Coffee Middle Red Raiders conclude the regular season with an 8-8 record and will now set their eyes on the Area Tournament next week.
