On Friday night, the CCCHS Red Raider Soccer Team beat Columbia Central 1-0 in their final district game of the regular season.

The Red Raiders would get on the board fairly quickly, as Cayden Trail scored on a free kick by Peyton Pobanz in the 21st minute to give Coffee County a 1-0 lead. It would be Trail’s ninth goal of the season, putting him in a tie with Ethan Sloan for the team lead.

Coffee County would play another solid game on the defensive side, keeping the Lions scoreless to earn another shutout win.

“We played extremely well for 80 minutes,” said coach Robert Harper. “Ethan (Sloan) was hurt and he played with a lot of heart tonight and we also had some guys come off the bench and play with a lot of energy. I think we’re peaking at the right time and I like our chances the rest of the way.”

The Red Raiders improved to 11-1-3 on the season with the win, finishing second place in the district standings with a record of 6-1-3, guaranteeing them a home game in the district semifinals.

For the final game of the regular season, Coffee County will play host to Tullahoma for the annual Coffee Cup game on Monday, Apr. 29 at 7:00 pm with Senior Night festivities taking place before the game.
