On Tuesday night, the Coffee County Middle Red Raiders ended their regular season with a 24-6 loss at Tullahoma in the Coffee Cup game.

The Wildcats could not take advantage of good field position, and their drive would end on downs after gaining only four yards.

The Red Raiders couldn’t get going on their next drive, punting after losing a total of three yards.

Tullahoma’s next drive would also end in a turnover on downs, giving Coffee County the ball at the Raiders’ own 24, but the Red Raiders fumbled on their next possession, giving the ball right back to the Wildcats.

Each team traded scoreless possessions as the game continued through the second quarter, and the halftime score remained where the game started, 0-0.

Out of the halftime break, Tullahoma received the ball first and for the fifth time of the night, the drive ended in a turnover on downs, this time at their own 42.

The Wildcats would break through on their next drive, scoring a touchdown and completing a two point conversion to take an 8-0 lead with 1:55 left in the third quarter.

The Red Raiders responded on their next drive, scoring a rushing touchdown over one minute into the fourth quarter, but the Red Raiders would fail the two point conversion and still trail 8-6.

It wouldn’t take long for the Wildcats to extend their lead, taking a kick return all the way to the house and completing another two point conversion to take a 16-6 lead.

From there, the wind seemed to be taken out of Coffee County’s sails, as the Red Raiders threw a third interception on their next drive, and the Wildcats took advantage, scoring another touchdown with 1:09 remaining in the fourth and completing another two point conversion to take a 24-6 lead, which they kept until the end of the game.

With the loss, the Red Raiders end the regular season with a 1-6 record.
