Lady Raiders lose district battle with Lincoln

The Lady Raider volleyball team had another tough outing on the road Tuesday night, losing 3-1 to the Lincoln County Lady Falcons in Fayetteville.

Lincoln County flew off to a dominant start in the first set, collecting a 7-1 lead early on before going on to win 25-15.

Coffee County responded well in the second set, racing to an 8-1 lead in the early going. Lincoln County would battle back to tie the score at 20-20 later on, but the Lady Raiders won the set 25-22 to tie the match at one set apiece.

The Lady Falcons would take over the rest of the way, winning the third set 25-19 and finishing things off with a 25-15 win in the fourth set to win the match 3-1.

For Coffee County, Savannah Cooper served up 10 aces, Danni Hillis led the team with six kills and Morgen Spears had seven assists.

With the loss, the Lady Raiders fell to 12-12 on the season with a 5-6 mark in district play and will play host to Columbia on Thursday, Sept. 26.
