On Thursday evening, the Lady Raider volleyball team got themselves back in the win column with a district win over Columbia at home.
In their previous meeting at Columbia on Sept. 3, the Lady Lions dominated the match in a decisive 3-0 sweep. It’s safe to say that the script was different for when the two teams clashed on Thursday night.
Coffee County controlled the first set, winning 25-14, then the Lady Lions tied the match at one set apiece with a 25-12 rout in the second set.
The Lady Raiders would go ahead 2-1 with a 25-18 win in the third set, then finish things off with a close 25-22 battle in the fourth for a 3-1 victory.
Danni Hillis led Coffee County with seven aces from the service line while Savannah Cooper mashed 10 kills and Morgen Spears collected 15 assists.
With the win, the Lady Raiders improved to a 13-12 overall record and a 6-6 mark in district play.
Coffee County will travel to Fayetteville for their next match on Monday, Sept. 30 to take on the Lady Tigers.
