Nashville drug arrest tied to Tullahoma fatal overdose

A six month investigation by Coffee County Sheriff Department’s Special Investigations Unit in connection with Metro Nashville Police and Tullahoma Police departments has led to the recent arrest of a LaVergne man suspected of several drug and handgun related crimes in middle Tennessee.
Joshua Hardaway, 30, of Howard Woody Drive in LaVergne, has been charged with seven drug counts following the search of his home Tuesday, Sept. 24. He is also under investigation for a fatal overdose in Tullahoma.
According to investigators with the Coffee County SIU, the Tullahoma death is still under investigation and the name of the victim is has not been released.
According to SIU investigators, the departments worked with police contacts in the metro area on a six-month investigation that resulted in law enforcement obtaining a search warrant on Hardaway’s house.
That search resulted in officers seizing approximately five ounces of fentanyl and several handguns.
Hardaway was wounded multiple times in an Aug. 5, 2024, suspected drug-related shooting on Edge O Lake Drive. In that case, detectives recovered a .38 caliber revolver in his car and pressed M30 pills.
Hardaway is a convicted felon in Michigan for assault against law enforcement; he is also facing a felony unlawful gun possession charge.
Hardaway is being held on a $192,000 bond.
